This week, Three Squares International Inc. (TSI) was recognized for its green operations and business practices when the Santa Monica Green Business Certification Program awarded it status as a Santa Monica Certified Green Business. To receive the certification, the environmental consulting firm had to meet rigorous criteria for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste.
“Three Squares Inc. earned its green business certification because of its holistic approach to sustainability,” commented Santa Monica Green Business Coordinator Susy Borlido. “They take sustainable actions beyond their office walls, bringing them to events, to other businesses and to countries around the world. The environmental consulting firm is an excellent example of a small green business making a huge positive impact in the world.”
The certification follows the honor of receiving the “Business of the Year Award” by CoolCalifornia.org and the California Air Resources Board in June 2012 for implementing environmental standards internally and educating clients on how to reduce their environmental impact. TSI was one of the first woman-owned small businesses to receive this award.
The Santa Monica Green Business Certification Program is a collaboration between the City of Santa Monica, the Chamber of Commerce, the Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sustainable Works to certify and recognize green businesses in the Santa Monica community.
