April 22, 2010 - PRLog -- The Women In Green Forum is pleased to announce that the National Biodiesel Board (NBB) will sponsor a vehicle in its clean vehicle Ride-and-Drive program. The Ride-and-Drive program will showcase the latest in biodiesel and other clean vehicle technologies and will provide an opportunity for registered attendees to take the latest green models out for a test drive. The program is expected to be a highlight of the Women In Green Forum, an event scheduled for September 1st and 2nd 2010 at the Pasadena Convention Center.
As the Forum is anticipated to bring together key decision makers from a range of environmental fields, it will serve as an ideal venue for auto manufacturers and alternative fuel providers to showcase their latest innovations. Registered attendees include renowned executives from the energy, technology, transportation, consumer product, professional service and nonprofit sectors. Representatives from the South Coast AQMD, Global Green, Environmental Media Association and UCLA will be active participants in the conference.
“Women In Green Forum participants will be able to experience how cleaner burning biodiesel is an excellent choice to help drive forward the green economy in a vehicle that is also fun to drive,” said NBB Director of Communications Jessica Robinson. “The biodiesel industry models how dynamic women leaders are making a positive impact on our environment. We would like to demonstrate to the Forum’s influential audience how our young and innovative energy sector has a significant, positive impact on greenhouse gas emissions.”
The National Biodiesel Board is the national trade association of the biodiesel industry and is the coordinating body for biodiesel research and development in the United States. Biodiesel is a renewable fuel made from agricultural byproducts, such as soybean oil, corn oil and recycled cooking oil and fats. According to studies by the U.S. Departments of Energy and Agriculture, biodiesel reduces most regulated emissions substantially, including greenhouse gases and potential cancer causing compounds.
In addition to biodiesel, the Women In Green Forum Ride-And-Drive will feature electric, plug-in hybrids, natural gas, propane and hydrogen vehicles. The vehicle exhibition program will take place directly outside the Convention Center. Inside the Convention Center, exhibition booths will showcase a variety of environmentally oriented products and services, ranging from health and beauty items to green building innovations. The Forum is being produced by Three Squares Inc., a sustainability consulting firm headquartered in Santa Monica, CA.
